This Sounds Fun

Stephen’s Lighthouse has a post explaining the Big Game to be played at the ALA annual meeting in Anaheim next month. It’s going to be an “information scavenger hunt” in which teams of people search for clues all over the conference setting: “in conference materials, in sessions, on the exhibit floor, and elsewhere.”

As one interested in games as well as in libraries, this sounds pretty cool, although possibly distracting since I was plenty busy just trying to catch half the things that looked interesting to me, when I attended MLA last month. If I’d also been searching for clues, I might have gone completely into overload.

But on the other hand, it might have been a fun way to get different parts of my brain engaged, and I like the idea of joining teams—you could work with people you know, or get to know new people by collaborating on amusing tasks.

In between participating in learning experiences and collecting pens, of course.

Next year, they should add Assassin. Heh.
