From DSLReports, Comcast is considering returning to the days of limited bandwidth. This go around, it is not the number of minutes you stay online that will trigger an overage fee, but the amount of data you pull down their pipes. Admittedly the cap sounds generous, 250GB is roughly 50 DVDs worth of data. But when you couch it in terms of streaming HD video content, it doesn’t seem ridiculous that a video enthusiast would find her or himself bumping up against the cap every month. I do give Comcast kudos for not simply taking matters into their own hands by interrupting P2P traffic on their networks.
Still, instead of working to get people to demand their services less, why not work harder to supply more bandwidth?
